As an independent local supplier, we provide our customers with a personal service and recommendations. We have something for all budgets and occasions, and if you are looking for a large bottle (1500ml), or something a bit different, we can help.
The main wine list at Wharf Side Wines extends to over 180 wines. Thanks to the extensive list of contacts gained over many years working in the wine industry, our Yorkshire wine experts have access to an additional 1200 wines and 75 spirits, as well as a beautiful range of glass ware.
So, whether you are looking for a delicious wine to drink during the week at very good value, or something for a special dinner party, Wharf Side Wines is the company for you.
Meet the Team
James Ingle set up Wharf Side Wines to share his passion and interest in great wines with other like-minded people and wine lovers across Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cumbria and the UK.
With over 10 years’ experience in the wine industry, together with a well-trained palette and nose, James is ideally placed to assist with all your wine drinking requirements, whatever the occasion.
James gained great knowledge of the industry whilst selling champagne in central London to private individuals and a large number of companies in the both the FTSE 150 and 250. In addition, James also spent three years in the hospitality trade in the North of England, working in large hotels and running gastro pubs.
James’s love of food and cooking reached new heights at the Ballymaloe Cookery School in Ireland, thanks to a series of culinary masterclasses from acclaimed chef Darina Allen. Here James also learnt how to perfectly pair food with wine, and create balanced wine menus, under the expert eye of award-winning sommelier Colm McCan.
